Garden works :)

I was planning to write about something completely different today, but....

Day is so beautiful, so sunny with so nice temperature outside, that my man decided to make some garden works :)

I'll be honest with you - our garden is proper mess, cause we just have not enough time to deal with it.

Why?

First thing - we have no idea about proper gardening :)
Second thing - most of the time gardening wise weather keep us home...
Third thing - when weather is nice we prefer go for a trip :)

Oki, I'm trimming hedge, when I should and I even like it :) also trimming gooseberry and redcurrant bushes to not allowed them spread to much.

We both hate dealing with weeds and with all raining here they are growing much much faster then anything else.

Today even Dom had some fun :) and he was trying to help too.

His daddy was busy painting the fence :)

You should see him when he finished - he was covered with paint all over :)

Crafty week?

I don't think I wrote here about my gaming hobby :) Just something different then reading or crafting :)

I cannot say I was gaming virgin when I met my partner, but I wasn't  'Alpha  & Omega' in it too.Whole my previous gaming experience was 2 times on console ( don't even remember what kind) and some silly stuff on computer.

Maciek showed me what all this stuff is about :) First he found GBA (GameBoy Advance) in great condition in one of charity shop with some games (Final Fantasy, Harvest Moon etc ), later on he bought PSP with games for himself (some times later - games for me too).
After his holiday, he back home with his PS2 ( took it back from his Mum place) and after that we were sure one thing - I prefer handhelds :)

So now I have Nintendo - birthday gift from him with nice collection of games - I love puzzle games, Harvest Moon series ( not all of them) and Final Fantasy ( especially both Tactics).

When I was pregnant we both start to play Settlers Online - we still play it but not every day like we used to :) We tried other online games, but we never stay with them for long. At the moment we trying Gems of War - we both enjoy it, but in different ways - Maciek loves PVP, I prefer Treasure Hunt :)

To be honest with you I had a chance to mix two of my hobbies: craft and gaming :) I made and sent card for 20th Birthday of Settlers games and even won prize cause guys from Dusseldorf liked my card :)

Day in Newcastle

Yesterday supposed to be Gruffalo day... wasn't.

Yes, me and Dom went to Newcastle. Yes, we were in Hancock Museum where Gruffalo was expected.

Everybody's waiting...

Problem is... Dom is not a patient person.. so... he said 'Hello' to his friend T-Rex

then checked birds

then made a round through most of expositions and we left the museum.

We went on a walk, bought some strawberries from nice man on Northumberland Street and eat them :)

Dom decided he wants milk shake - we checked  Kaspa's. OMG - one regular shake is enough for team of three!!! We spend bit of time to drink it :)

Our next stop - Discovery Museum :) We didn't know that they have Teddy Bear Tuesday, so we had extra fun looking for 10 mischievous Teddy Bears around whole building :) Thanks to that we checked all rooms and every single exposition there :)

Then we made our way to Chinatown for late lunch and then catch bus home.

That was nice day even with this grey and drizzling weather :)

Egg hunt and other things

Last Friday we visited our old toddler's group in nearby community centre for Easter Egg hunt.

Aw.. that was really nice to see old friends and meet new :) Kids are growing up so fast!
Dawn who's running the group was happy to see Dom again and she said he's changed and is sooo grown up now :)

Dom couldn't wait for egg hunting and he found most of the eggs before play starts :) so we had to hide all of them again :)

He found most of them later anyway and back home tired, but with big bag full of choco eggs and big choco bunny :)

Meeting friends

Dom's Easter holiday are passing so quick...

Time to catch up with things :)

Last week we met my friend Kasia and went together for little trip to nearby Country Park with kids.
Dom and Kasia's girls had brill time running wild, playing ball, climbing trees etc. All three of them don't bother the weather - grey & cold & drizzly in some point :) On the end of it all of them were partially covered with mud but we don't mind as long as they had good fun :) We had little picnic and we were checking 'art trail'.

That was great day even with this miserable weather :)

Dom also had his fave dish last week - risotto with green peas :)

I know Italians are cooking this dish totally different way but here how I'm doing it :)

I'm chopping 1 medium onion or 2 shallots, 1 celery stalk, frying them on oil/olive 2-3 minutes, adding cup of long grain rice, mixing a bit, then adding bit by bit around 700 ml or more hot veggie or chicken stock ( can be from cube), when rice almost done ( around 15 minutes) I'm adding 2-3 handfuls of frozen peas and some black pepper and dried garlic for taste. I'm serving it decorated with grated cheese (eg Cheddar) and chopped parsley.
